It is Checkout Saver LLC's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website, https://www.checkoutsaver.com, our browser extension, mobile experiences, and other sites or services we own and operate (collectively, the "Services").

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Services, and information from third parties and security/fraud-prevention tools. This may include:

  • Account & identity information: name, email address, password, phone number, date of birth, government ID information or images, selfie/biometric likeness used for identity verification, tax/payout profile details, and other KYC/AML verification data.
  • Transaction & gift card information: gift card codes/PINs, card values, purchase/sale history, payout preferences (including PayPal, gift card, or cryptocurrency wallet details you provide), and related communications.
  • Device, browser & network data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type/version, operating system, language, time zone, referring URLs, pages viewed, and extension/install signals.
  • Security & fraud signals: signup fingerprints, device fingerprinting hashes, cookie/local storage identifiers, approximate geolocation derived from IP, velocity/risk scores, and similar anti-abuse telemetry.
  • Communications: support tickets, emails, chat messages, and feedback you send us.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies, preference cookies, analytics cookies (including Microsoft Clarity), and similar technologies used to operate, secure, and improve the Services.

We may collect additional categories of information as needed to operate gift card trading, cashback, coupons, wallets, withdrawals, and related features, and to comply with law.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services (including website analytics, heatmaps, and session recordings via tools such as Microsoft Clarity);
  • Create and manage accounts, process transactions, and fulfill payouts/withdrawals;
  • Prevent, detect, investigate, and respond to fraud, abuse, stolen cards, unauthorized access, money laundering, and other harmful or illegal activity;
  • Verify identity and eligibility (including KYC/identity verification partners);
  • Communicate with you about your account, transactions, security alerts, and support;
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations;
  • Enforce our Terms & Conditions and protect the rights, property, and safety of Checkout Saver, our users, and the public.

3. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising where prohibited. We only collect and use personal information as needed to operate the Services and to prevent fraud and abuse of the platform.

4. Sharing of Information

We may share information with:

  • Service providers and processors who assist us (hosting, analytics such as Microsoft Clarity, email delivery, payment processors, identity verification/KYC vendors, fraud-prevention tools, customer support), under confidentiality and use limitations;
  • Affiliated companies under common control, subject to this Policy;
  • Law enforcement, regulators, or other parties when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights and safety;
  • Parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

We do not authorize service providers to use your personal information for their own marketing.

5. Fraud Prevention & Monitoring

Because gift cards and cash-like instruments are frequently targeted by fraud, we use automated and manual review, device fingerprinting, IP/device signals, identity verification, and related controls. You consent to this collection and processing as a condition of using the Services. Attempting to circumvent these controls may result in account suspension, forfeiture of pending balances where permitted by law, and reporting to authorities.

6. Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal/regulatory retention requirements. Fraud, security, and KYC records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary.

7. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you use the Services at your own risk to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Your Choices & Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to object to certain processing. Submit requests via our support channels. We may verify your identity before responding and may decline requests where an exemption applies (including fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate business records).

9. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. International Transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries. By using the Services, you understand that your information may be transferred to jurisdictions with different data-protection laws.

11. Third-Party Links

Our Services may link to external sites we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy. The "updated" date in our systems reflects the latest revision.

Website Analytics (Microsoft Clarity)

We use Microsoft Clarity, a website analytics service provided by Microsoft, to understand how people use our website and to improve usability. Clarity may collect information such as pages you visit, clicks, scrolls, mouse movements, referring URLs, device/browser details, and approximate location derived from IP address. Clarity may also create heatmaps and session recordings of interactions with our pages (for example, how you navigate a store or account screen).

Clarity uses cookies and similar technologies (including Microsoft cookies) to recognize returning visitors and stitch together a session for analytics. Data collected by Clarity is processed by Microsoft according to Microsoft’s privacy practices. For more information, see Microsoft’s Privacy Statement and Clarity’s Terms.

We use this information to improve the Services (find broken flows, reduce friction, and fix bugs) — not to sell your personal information. You can limit analytics cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect how well we can diagnose site issues.

Browser Extension

This section describes how the Checkout Saver Chrome / browser extension (“Extension”) handles information. It supplements the rest of this Privacy Policy and is intended to match the Extension’s actual behavior and Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures.

Single purpose

The Extension helps shoppers find and activate cashback, coupons, and discount gift card offers at supported online retailers. Features and permissions are limited to that purpose.

Information the Extension uses

  • Account information — name and email when you create an account or sign in.
  • Authentication information — session/auth tokens and Checkout Saver website cookies used to keep you signed in and sync account state between the website and Extension.
  • Wallet / account balance — displayed in the Extension for your account; withdrawal and purchase of gift cards are completed on CheckoutSaver.com, not inside the Extension popup.
  • Active tab retailer context — the hostname (and, when needed, path) of the page you are on, matched against our supported store list so we can show relevant offers.
  • Cashback activation / affiliate attribution data — when you choose to activate cashback or open a store through Checkout Saver, we may use affiliate or tracking links so eligible purchases can be attributed and cashback can be credited when a commission is paid.
  • Extension preferences — settings such as automatic popup preferences, hidden sites/retailers, reminder options, and error-reporting opt-out, stored in Chrome extension storage on your device.
  • Diagnostics (optional) — if error reporting is enabled, crash/error details may be sent to help us fix bugs (for example via Sentry and/or our servers).

The Extension does not sell your browsing history. It does not display or store purchased gift-card codes, PINs, or other private redemption inventory in the Extension UI; manage those on CheckoutSaver.com.

Store matching

When you visit a website (and optional site access has been granted, or you open the Extension on the current tab), the Extension may read the page URL (hostname and path) and compare it to our supported store list so we can show cashback, coupons, discount gift cards, and related offers for that retailer. We use this to decide whether to show savings UI — not to build a general browsing profile for advertising.

Site access permissions

At install, the Extension requests access to Checkout Saver sites and the login providers we use (for example Google and Facebook OAuth) so account and API features work. Access to other websites is optional: after you grant it, the Extension can run on http/https shopping sites so offers can appear on supported stores and so we can detect affiliate tracking redirects after you activate cashback. If you decline optional access, you can still open the Extension on the current tab via the toolbar icon (Chrome’s temporary “active tab” access).

Automatic prompts and your controls

On supported retailers, the Extension may automatically open or show a savings prompt when Chrome allows it. You can hide prompts for today, never show automatically for a specific retailer, disable automatic retailer popups globally, or hide prompts on a site — all from the Extension Settings or Hide controls. Manually opening the Extension from the toolbar always remains available.

Affiliate redirect tracking

When you choose to activate cashback or open a store through Checkout Saver, we may send you through an affiliate or tracking link. That lets the retailer (and our affiliate networks) attribute the visit/purchase so we can credit cashback to your account when a commission is paid. Checkout Saver may earn a commission from eligible purchases. This tracking happens on your action — not on every page you browse. Cashback is not guaranteed; retailer exclusions, tracking failures, and program rules may apply.

Account tokens & local storage

If you sign in through the Extension, we store authentication tokens and related account preferences in Chrome’s extension storage (chrome.storage) on your device so the Extension can keep you signed in and load your wallet/offers. You can clear this by signing out or removing the Extension. We do not store your password in the Extension.

Notifications badge

If you are signed in and badge notifications are enabled, the Extension may periodically check for unread order or support-ticket updates and show a count on the toolbar icon. You can turn this off in Settings.

Error reporting (Sentry / diagnostics)

To fix crashes and bugs, the Extension may send error and diagnostic reports (for example via Sentry and/or our own error-log API). Reports can include technical details such as error messages, stack traces, Extension version, and a limited page URL related to the failure. You can turn error reporting off anytime in the Extension Settings.

Marketing email

During signup you may see an optional “Email me deals & tips” checkbox. You can leave it checked or uncheck it before submitting. Account creation works either way. Marketing email is only sent when that preference is enabled on your account.

Your choices

Open the Extension → Settings to manage automatic popups, hidden sites, permanently hidden retailers, reminder preferences, toolbar badge behavior, and error reporting. Read this Privacy Policy anytime from Settings or at checkoutsaver.com/privacy-policy#browser-extension.
