Lots of stores offer credit towards future purchases, but a many of us would rather just have cash. Checkout Saver is going to be the best place to sell store credit online.

This post is dedicated to selling store credit like Victoria Secret Pink Cash, gift cards, and other vouchers and forms of store credit.

Selling Store Credit Has Historically Been Difficult

Some options exist already for selling store credit you may have earned, but most options take a large portion of the money, or it’s a hassle to sell it.

For instance, you can sell some coupons and store credit codes on eBay but the guidelines are limiting. You can only sell 25 coupons per month, or $100 worth. If you exceed these limits eBay does what eBay does best…

Other options may lead you to forums, where you have to register an account, find someone interested in your coupon, and conduct a transaction which you’re not even sure will go through, and the whole process leaves you feeling like you could have put your time to better use.

Better Options..

Better options than eBay and Forums exist, of course, and before we get to the best one, let me show you THCM Marketplace. They allow you to buy and sell tons of manufacturers coupons online.

The Happy Couponer Marketplace has a fantastic assortment of coupons available for reasonable prices, and is great to both make some extra money on the side and save a little extra.

Now, this is a great option to sell manufacturer coupons…

But if you want to sell store credit, Checkout Saver is your huckleberry

We’ll pay you for any store credit you earn as part of a rewards program. Think of any retailer where you spend money and have a loyalty account (they’re usually free!) – if they send you your reward as a code – we’ll pay you for it.

We’re just getting started at this, and we need you to let us know what retailers you’d like us to support! Drop the dime and contact us here.

We’re trying to make this the best platform around to sell unwanted coupons and credits, and make them available to buyers who can purchase them to save money when they shop.

If you want to install the browser extension that’s the best way to get started and stay familiar with things as we start supporting hundreds of retailers that you can sell store credit to.

Upcoming Supported Retailers for Selling Store Credit

The requirements for support are primarily that the store must have a store credit program with an electronic code so it can be used online.

Stores like REI, which offer 10% back in the form of an annual dividend, are sadly not eligible as they do not have electronic codes you could share with someone.

  • Tractor Supply
  • Victoria’s Secret
  • Reebok
  • Nordstrom
  • PetSmart
  • Bed Bath & Beyond

Know of another retailer that would fit this model? Let us know!

Can I sell Gift Cards?

Gift cards are a hot commodity! We offer some of the best prices you can get for gift cards, and you can read more about it on this page:

Airline Miles?

We’re looking into it. We’d loooove to be able to support trading airline miles, which notoriously expire, as soon as possible! But we’re a small independent company, and we need your support to make these features a reality!

Please download the browser extension and support us so we can bring you even more amazing features!

When will I be able to sell my store credit online?

Very soon. Checkout Saver is an independent small business and even you reading this sentence is a huge help for the business. The more support we have, the sooner we’ll be able to introduce store credit selling/buying. Right now, you should be able to sell store credit online by Q4 2021.

I guarantee I can show you the best combination of money saving hacks you’ve ever seen. How can I be so sure? I’m a real life ethical hacker who’s developed Checkout Saver to automate more savings than ever.

This is a how-to guide on combining every tool possible to save yourself insane amounts of money when you shop online.

I’ve been using these techniques myself for years, and now I’ve started a business in order to automate parts of the process for myself and everyone else. I’ve even developed my own money saving hacks which I’m giving away to you for free.

1. Credit Card Cashback

Everyone is familiar with Credit Card Cashback, but it’s important to give it it’s own recognition and to separate it from Affiliate Cashback.

Credit Card Cashback is simple and automatic. Just pay for your purchase with a credit card and get a % back in your credit card account.

I typically recommend the Citi Double Rewards card which essentially gives 2% back on every purchase.

It’s important to note this type of cashback can be stacked with the other methods below, such as Affiliate Cashback.

2. Affiliate Cashback (My #1 Money Saving Hack)

Most people are less familiar with affiliate cashback, but it’s quietly been saving people billions over the years. It’s pretty simple: retailers spend a lot of money on marketing, and some of that budget goes towards affiliate commissions – they pay other people to send them sales. Some affiliates send that commission back to YOU, the shopper!

Checkout Saver has partnered with hundreds of retailers, and when you use our links to check out, we get paid that affiliate commission, which we pass on to you (after taking a small commission).

3. Citi Price Rewind

Citi offers a pretty cool perk with some of their cards: they track the purchase price of things you’ve purchased, and if the price drops within 60 days they credit you the difference.

There are a lot of catches here, like you have to manually input your purchases and their database of price lookups can be limited, but it’s a really neat way to add up to $1,500 / year back into your pocket.

Update: This is hard for me to say, but Price Rewind is no longer active as of 2019. RIP beautiful savings.

4. Paribus – Price Drop Tracker

The perfect replacement to Citi Price Rewind! Paribus monitors your purchases and fights on your behalf to get cash back if the price drops in the near future!

This is a freebie way to claw back some extra bucks, but individuals who value privacy (hopefully all of us), may have concerns about allowing a 3rd party access to all their emails.

5. Coupons

You knew this one was coming! Yes, coupons are one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to save some money when you shop online. There are some awesome extensions out there, like Honey, which automatically test all known coupons for you at checkout!

I highly recommend it, but please also be aware Checkout Saver will be offering coupons at checkout as well, and we’re a super small business in the USA dedicated to saving people more than ever, and changing the world. When you support us, you’re helping us fight climate change, use renewable energy, supporting my dreams, and more.

One-Time Coupons are going to change the couponing world. Soon, we’ll be the first platform to offer you unique coupon codes, provided by other users, which can only be used once. These rare gems will be available at a cost which still leaves you with savings, and the coupon provider will get paid for providing you the code.

6. Discount Gift Cards (My #2 Money Saving Hack)

I bet you’re not currently using a lot of discount gift cards at checkout, but you should be. Did you know you can buy gift cards to sites like Walmart.com on the Raise.com marketplace?

For instance, if you’re checkout out a $30 shopping cart, you can see if any $25 gift cards are available for purchase for $22 or so. Purchase it, and use it against your basket, and you’ll save $3!

Checkout Saver was started to automated this process and make it easy! We want you to be able to be checking out, and we’ll pop up an alert for you to purchase and auto-fill a gift card to save a few extra dollars.

This money saving hack could be what helps you afford those missing things in your life!

7. Store Price Comparison

Another simple one that can have a dramatic affect on how much you pay. Comparing different retailers for the same item could payoff big, and it could take you less time than you expect using a tool designed for this purpose, such as BuyVia (mobile device app) to compare sites like Amazon, Target, and Walmart.

You can also scan barcodes in a store to figure out if you’re getting the best deal, using an app like ShopSavvy.

8. Timing a good deal

This one’s a bit trickier and requires effort and patience. While some tools exist which can track historical prices at Amazon, not many can do it for other sites or let you know to expect a sale on the horizon. This requires getting familiar with the retailer, or hunting down information on forums. We’ll keep you posted if we find a tool that makes this easier, but for now just know we’re working on it, and Target has an annual sale of 10% off gift cards on December 8th every year.

All of these techniques can be combined together to save you a staggering amount of money. Checkout Saver exists to combine Cashback, Coupons, and Gift Cards – the first extension of it’s kind to do so.

We hope you found this guide informative, and we hope it helps you save some money. Again, we’re a small business trying to change the world, and your support would make a huge difference. Please consider downloading our extension today.

9. Dosh (BONUS!)

Dosh is an awesome cashback tool that works seamlessly will all the other methods here. For this mobile app, you link up your credit cards, and when you use them to make a purchase at supported retailers you automatically get cashback to your Dosh account.

I love this one because it’s so simple you forget about it, you just get alerts when cash hits your account. I also love it because it works at lots of stores that don’t have any other discounts, like my local Cuban restaurant and Papa Johns!

https://link.dosh.cash/JUSTINW384 – sign up with my code and we BOTH get $5 when you join!

10. Bumped (BONUS!)

Bumped gives you stock/equity in the company when you spend there. Sign up, then choose your selected retailer for a particular category. When you spend there, it’ll automatically track the purchase from your credit card and pay you your stock dividend as a form of cashback!

I love this concept because it’s unique, and it can be stacked with all the others! https://bumped.com/?ref=64ce8f0b

How Does Affiliate Cashback, The Greatest Money Saving Hack of Them All, Work?

So far I’ve dropped a few bombs with all the techniques and unique savings opportunities, and I realize you may not be familiar with some of them.

While getting paid cashback when you to shop seems like an outright scam, it actually makes a lot of sense. Let me clear things up.

Behind the scenes, when you use Checkout Saver to visit your favorite retailers, you’re being redirected their using our Affiliate Link.

Because we referred you and a sale to the retailer, they pay us a commission.

We turn around and pass almost all of that commission on to you (we keep a little bit to turn a profit and bring you these awesome opportunities). So that’s what’s in it for us – we get paid when you make a magazine purchase.

It’s in our best interests to help you save as much money as possible, which is why our service is completely free. You can sign up and start saving today.

Our new browser extension makes the process easier than ever. Simply search for your store and click through to save. We’ll even automatically alert you if you can save money at the store you’re browsing using Cashback, Coupons, or Discount Gift Cards.

Checkout Saver lets users connect to buy / sell coupons when they need them.

We’ve all been there. We try to find a coupon for a site we’ve never been to, and no luck (even with the hardcore coupon apps). Making it worse, when we receive the package there’s a coupon inside for the NEXT purchase, but it expires in a month! Wouldn’t it be great to have access to coupons you can’t find anywhere else, and be able to sell coupons you won’t use for cash?

Checkout Saver makes this possible, and it couldn’t be easier. Next time you come across a One Time Coupon, sell it on Checkout Saver. When someone buys it, they’ll save money and you’ll get paid!

Take a look at the following image. Now, you have a way to sell the code you’d get from something like that – for CASH!One Time Coupon

For buyers, you’ll have access to a rare breed of coupons that you won’t find anywhere else. Many coupons expire once after they are used, so good luck finding one online before anyone else. However, someone may be willing to sell it for a portion of your savings. With Checkout Saver, purchase and apply unique coupons at checkout and save money!

Our browser extension makes this process a breeze. You’ll simply get an alert at checkout if coupons are available. We’ll iterate through available public coupons first, and if we strike out we’ll offer you a reserve one-time use coupon you can purchase at an overall discount of your current checkout price!

How does selling a coupon work?

Once we’ve finished development, you’ll be able to sell coupon codes using your account. On the sell coupon page, you can select from our supported retailers. Then enter in the coupon details, such as the unique coupon code itself, the discount %, and it’s expiration date.

From there, we’ll verify the code and list it for sale. When a user with the browser extension visits the retailer, they’ll get a popup alerting them of an available paid coupon. The buyer will see a breakdown of how much the coupon will save them. IE if cart is $200 and the coupon is 10%, they’ll save $20 (minus how much they pay for the coupon)

How much can I sell coupons for?

Coupon pricing is dependent on the purchasing user’s subtotal. Larger subtotals mean bigger discounts, and the more potential money you stand to make from selling your coupon. Checkout Saver handles this process automatically, and it works like this:

You’ve received a unique coupon code from bodybuilding.com and you list it for sale on checkout saver.

Alice is making a $200 purchase at bodybuilding.com to get swole, and she’s also got the Checkout Saver browser extension installed.

The popup informs her a 10% coupon is available for purchase, and it’ll cost 5% of the total. Alice completes the purchase, paying $180 at bodybuilding.com ($200-10%coupon) and $10 at checkout saver for the coupon.

So Alice paid $10 for the coupon and saved $20 on the subtotal for a final savings of $10. Of that $10, Checkout Saver takes a small commission, and you’d walk away with $7.50.

Imagine selling coupon codes you received from purchases

Retailers include coupons all the time in the shipments they send your purchase in, or by email after the purchase is made. Typically, they’re trying to get you to make a repeat purchase… but you’ve already made your purchase and the coupon expires in a month!

Imagine selling dozens of those coupons for $2.50, $5, even $10 or $25 depending on how valuable the coupon is. Part of the excitement is not knowing how much you’ll save, which is based off how much money the buyer of the coupon saves using it.

If you provide a 20% off coupon and a user makes a $2,000 purchase, you could expect to make around $150!

What kinds of coupons can be sold?

Not every type of coupon can be sold, in fact, most can’t. We’re looking for unique coupon codes – ones with a unique code that looks like a secure password more than a savings code word like “Autumn”.

These types of codes are usually sent directly to the consumer, whereas public coupon codes are advertised on the site or at coupon websites.

Public Coupon Codes

Public Coupon Codes cannot be sold to Checkout Saver. These are codes like “FREESHIP” or “PRESIDENTSDAY” that can be used by many different customers. If you’re trying to sell a coupon code that’s found on other websites that won’t work. These types of coupons are awesome, because everyone can use them, and we love to provide these to users in our browser extension. But we only pay for unique, one-time use codes.

Examples of Public Coupon Codes

  • WELCOME
  • SAVE5
  • CYBERMONDAY
  • COUPON25OFF

One Time Coupon Codes

Checkout Saver buys One Time Coupon Codes. These coupon codes resemble passwords in terms of complexity, and can only be used once. They are usually sent from a retailer as a thank you to a customer, or as a temptation to come back and make another purchase.

These codes typically carry a high value, like 10 or 20% off, and sometimes they can expire in a matter of weeks or months. When you can’t use it in that time frame remember to list it for sale on Checkout Saver. You’ll help someone save money, and you’ll get paid for providing the coupon.

Examples of One Time Coupon Codes

  • SCR10FV2SNY7
  • BLUE8148592
  • 12DEC8159243JOHN

Manufacturers Coupon Codes

The most common coupons, manufacturers coupons which are typically for a $ amount off a specific product, are not yet supported by Checkout Saver.

However, there are some fantastic marketplaces which you can sell these coupons at! For manufacturer coupon codes, sell them at The Happy Couponer Marketplace. For every other type of code, get the best rate at CheckoutSaver.com.

When I sell a coupon, how do I get paid?

First you list your coupon, store credit, or other redeemable code for sale at Checkout Saver. Once someone is able to use it, we’ll pay you 85% of the face value.

This extremely high rate gets you the most amount of cash for your coupon, lets us take a very small profit to keep running, and lets the purchaser of the coupon save some money too.

Once the coupon is sold, we’ll deposit the cash into your Checkout Saver account. From there, you can withdraw via PayPal, or keep the cash in your balance.

Keeping it in your balance will let you use it in the future to buy discounted gift cards or coupons to save money down the road – the best option.

Install the Checkout Saver Browser Extension to Buy One-Time Coupons

The browser extension is the easiest and quickest way to save money at checkout. Simply install it and it will alert you at checkout if you can save money.

When you list your coupons for sale, this is how people will buy them! You should sign up to start taking advantage of both buying and selling coupons!

Top Money Saving Hacks https://www.checkoutsaver.com/blog/top-money-saving-hacks/ Tue, 11 Dec 2018 11:20:49 +0000 https://www.checkoutsaver.com/blog/?p=72 1 – My favorite money saving hack relates to The White House, or its phone number at least. 1 – My favorite money saving hack relates to The White House, or its phone number at least. All over the country, this number is registered with most major retailer reward programs.

Anywhere you go, you can get access to the loyalty program discounts even if you aren’t a local, or if you forget your card. Simply memorize The White House phone number, and provide it when prompted.

Some programs offer pretty good discounts! Using the number, I often received high rewards like $.10/gallon shown above at a gas station in Colorado.

The primary phone number registered in the loyalty programs is 2024561414. While the phone number is valid and actually one in use by The White House, it is typically unrelated individuals who register these reward programs, using a centralized number to avoid giving their personal information.

Alternatively, try the local area code + 867-5309

2 – My second favorite money-saving hack has gotta be the Price Rewind feature from Citi. Any purchase that I make on the card can be monitored for 60 days, and if a lower price is found I automatically get the discount!

Pros – Great way to get the best deal, get cash back on money already spent! $1,000 max savings

Cons – Have to manually enter each purchase to begin the automatic 60-day price watch. $1,000 max savings

3 – Similar to 2, Paribus will scan your emails to track your purchases, and automatically initiates a price-drop safety net as well.

Cons – Privacy concern, letting an app have access to your email

4 – One-Time Coupons are my new favorite thing, and why I started Checkout Saver. It’s an amazing type of coupon which never gets any attention! Now, there is a platform to exchange these coupons for cash, and buy them when you’re checking out to save money!

5 – Discount Gift Cards. Great for saving a couple bucks at most every major online retailer. Checkout Saver also provides gift cards at checkout, cheaper than face value so you can save money, and it automatically inserts it into the page. Before, it would take a long time to get gift cards emailed to you, now it’s instantly provided when you need it at a better deal. Our browser extension will automatically alert you at checkout if a discounted gift card is available, and can charge you + autofill the gift card details into the checkout page.

Image result for gift card

6 – Honey is another tool which offers cashback and standard coupons. I love it when there isn’t anything else available, but sooo often all the coupons fail me. Checkout Saver will be filling that gap shortly, providing coupons where Honey cant. Until Checkout Saver grows, Honey will still be a close go-to of mine.

7 – Similarly, Raise.com has been the reliable gift card marketplace before Checkout Saver. A wide variety of cards are almost always available for major retailers, but sometimes the margin is so thin it’s not worth it (partially because Raise takes a 12% cut). Checkout saver will be able to offer better prices for cards, attracting more profitable arrangements for both buyers and sellers.

8 – Knowledge is really the most valuable resource, and The Penny Hoarder (TPH) puts out some fantastic content. There is an enormous variety of content available, and the majority of it they don’t attempt to monetize – meaning you get more meaningful information, faster. I’d definitely recommend checking them out to expand your financial expertise.

9 – You may already have a savings account, but is it earning you any interest? Most big banks like Chase or BoA are offering a pittance – only .01%APY. An online savings account like Marcus or from CiT could earn you 200 times more than what you’re currently earning!

10 – Track your spending! This is a must – you can’t manage what you can’t measure. I recommend Mint, which is a great source to consolidate all your accounts into one place. It provides everything you need to track your spending, and finding out where you spend your money is the first step in the journey to creating a budget.

When we think of coupons, codes like “FREESHIP”, “XMAS18”, or “SAVE5” may come to mind. We may not readily recognize the raw untapped power of the One-Time Coupon.

I’m talking about coupons that are often personalized to incentivize repeat purchases, like “JANE528510” which expires in a month, or after its used. At Checkout Saver, we’re offering the ability to sell that coupon for cash, to someone who needs it.

One Time Coupon

List your coupons and Checkout Saver will offer them to buyers at checkout, strategically optimizing transaction which will yield both the greatest money for the seller, and the most savings for the buyer. Once a buyer consumes your coupon, you’ll get paid for your coupon.

Buyers can install the browser extension and shop normally – Checkout Saver seamlessly integrates into the background and only becomes active when a deal is available. If you’re at the checkout page of a supported retailer and the icon flashes, you may be able to buy a discount coupon.

Checkout Saver will offer the greatest coupon available for purchase with your credit card or account balance. A 10% coupon may be able to be used, and purchased for 5%. You’ll end up saving 5%, checkout saver will take a small commission for the sale, and the seller of the coupon will get paid cash for their coupon.

A browser extension is a lightweight piece of software that runs in the background of your browser. Checkout Saver is a platform which saves you money when you shop online using cashback, discount gift cards, and one-time coupons. Combine the two, and you have a money-saving machine automatically working for you in three ways when you shop online, for free.
After you’ve installed the browser extension (coming soon), you can shop as you normally would. The extension icon will notify you whenever a way to save money is identified.

Click the icon to display the menu, and see how many ways you can save money. Activate each available tool to save money, using the click of a button. While we’re just getting started, you’ll eventually be able to use a combination of all three tools to create massive discounts at your favorite retailers.

Click Cashback to visit the site through the Checkout Saver Portal – using our affiliate link, we’ll redirect you to the site, get paid, and pass cashback on to you.

If a discount gift card is available, click to purchase it right at checkout. Your credit card will be charged by Checkout Saver and the gift card information will be filled into the checkout form. Finish the transaction, and the gift card will have saved you some bucks. For instance, your order at walmart.com was $60, and Checkout Saver had a $50 e-gift card available for $45. You’d buy the gift card for $45, and pay a remaining $10 to Walmart, a total of $55, saving you $5 overall.

If a one-time coupon is available, you can purchase the code for a percentage of your transaction total, and the coupon discount will save you money. If you buy a 10% off coupon and pay 5% for it, you’ll end up saving 5% on your transaction.

If you use all three methods, you’ll save money using Cashback, Discount Gift Cards, and One-Time Coupons. That could realistically be 5% + 10% + 15%+ at big box retailers – imagine saving 30% every time you shopped!!

Cashback can even be stacked – meaning you can use Checkout Saver to earn say 4% on your purchase, while using a credit card with points or cashback to pay for the purchase. You can always use your credit card to earn a base 2% cashback, and activate Checkout Saver to earn additional cashback paid into your account.

You’ll collect cash in your Checkout Saver account, and once you’ve earned $10 you can withdraw via PayPal or Gift Card (more options coming soon… bitcoin!?)
