Bought It. Then the Price Dropped?
Don’t let the savings disappear after checkout.

What Is Price Drop Protection?
Price drop protection is the practice of watching items you already bought in case the selling price falls while a retailer still allows a price adjustment. If the store’s current policy says you can request the difference, that gap is potential savings — not money you are automatically owed.
Price match vs. price adjustment vs. protection
- Price match usually happens at checkout. A retailer agrees to match a lower advertised price, sometimes from its own other channel and sometimes from a listed competitor.
- Price adjustment happens after you buy. If the price drops later, you may be able to request the difference during a stated window.
- Price drop protection is a tool or habit designed to help you notice those post-purchase opportunities and act while the window may still be open.
Policies vary by store, product, seller, membership, and promotion. Checkout Saver does not decide eligibility and does not promise that any retailer will approve a request. Always read the official terms for the purchase you care about.

A few years ago, some services tried to watch purchases and request adjustments for you. The market changed, and most of those products wound down. Retailer price adjustments did not disappear with them — they still exist, store by store, with their own windows and exclusions.
Checkout Saver is developing a modern approach: help shoppers notice eligible price drops on supported purchases, where retailer policies permit. This page is about that upcoming feature, not about any former service.
FAQ
Price drop protection questions
Price drop protection is a way of watching items you already bought in case the price falls while a retailer still allows a price adjustment. When a store's own policy permits it, you can often request the difference back — but you usually have to notice the drop and ask in time. Checkout Saver Price Drop Protection is a Coming Soon feature designed to help you catch eligible price drops on supported purchases, where retailer policies permit.
Sometimes, where retailer policies permit. Many stores offer a limited window to request a price adjustment if the same eligible item is later sold for less. Potential savings are not guaranteed: the product, seller, membership, promotion, and current terms all matter. Always read the retailer's current policy.
A price match usually happens at checkout: a store agrees to match a lower advertised price (sometimes its own other channel, sometimes a listed competitor). A price adjustment happens after you buy: if the price drops later, you may be able to request the difference during a stated window. "Price drop protection" is the idea of helping you notice and act on those post-purchase opportunities. Policies vary, and neither term guarantees a refund.
It depends on the retailer, the product, how you paid, membership status, and the policy in effect when you ask. Windows are often measured in days, not months, and holiday rules can differ. Checkout Saver cannot assign a universal deadline. Check the store's current terms for the purchase you care about.
No. Some retailers offer post-purchase adjustments, some only match at the register, and some do not offer either. Marketplace sellers, clearance, and third-party listings are often excluded. Policies change. Treat every card on this page as a pointer to current retailer terms, not a promise.
Not yet. Checkout Saver Price Drop Protection is currently in development. We are designing a way to help you notice eligible price drops on supported purchases, where retailer policies permit. Checkout Saver does not currently monitor every purchase, submit claims, or guarantee refunds.
Amazon generally does not provide broad post-purchase price adjustments. Amazon's published help states that it does not offer price matching, and everyday prices can change after you order. Limited exceptions may exist (for example, some pre-order price guarantees). Policies can change — read Amazon's current customer-service terms rather than relying on a summary.
We have not finalized feature terms. Joining Checkout Saver is free today, and our other shopper tools are built to stay useful without a surprise paywall. When Price Drop Protection is ready, we will state clearly whether any part of it has a cost. This page does not invent pricing.
This is a high-level upcoming feature only. We are designing Price Drop Protection as part of the Checkout Saver shopping experience so supported purchases can be recognized after checkout. Exact capture methods are not final, will apply to supported retailers only, and will be documented before launch. We will not claim a purchase-detection method we have not shipped.
